October - Oeming Road

Well, here we are - September is history & October & Thanksgiving are upon us. We have had some beautiful sunny weather & it was pure joy going for walks in the environs.
Jam/jelly making is done! But I do have some cranberry juice which I will make up whenever.
We had a wonderful holiday to lake O'Hara courtesy of Coleen/Hu/Karyn/John. It is a beautiful spot in Yoho National Park, just over the border from Alberta. Many hikers come here. And though their season is short, they are booked solid. We met interesting guests & did a hike around the lake - it was a challenge & we won't do it again. Funny, years ago Grandpa said we did the hike & it must have been easy because I don't remember the hazards we encountered this time. One thing I learned - faith & fear cannot exist. When I was fearful I was frightened & was ready to give up. When I had faith I had confidence & kept going.
I saw a stage production of Pride & Prejudice at the Citadel Theatre. Very beautifully done. We also attended the dinner theatre in Rosebud (a drive of about 3 h) courtesy of Hu. Driving back was a challenge - fog patches so much of the way. Good thing Hu was at the wheel.
We have resumed our FHE study group - every 2 wks. We are studying The Articles of Faith by James Talmadge. I love the way he expresses himself - sometimes I consult the dictionary just to make sure I understand the word.
Grandpa has done a little work in the campaign office of our MP. Elections are Oct 14.
The highlight of every week is reading the e-mails from Elder Schneider & Sisar Redd. We feel like we are their companions in their missionary labors.
The General Conference was special & Calgary getting a Temple! Maybe we should move back? But we enjoy our Condo here.
Love to all
Grannie
