Hello from Oeming Road-
I haven't posted for ages. Just too occupied with other matters. We have made two trips to Victoria - one in March because Grandpa was tired of all the snow. Again, the end of May & early June. We wanted to visit with Spencer who came to present a paper at the Humanities/Social Sciences Congress in Victoria. About 7000 people congregated - so there was much action around UBC. Coleen came to visit us for a day as she wanted to visit with Spencer also. We thought Spencer looked great & it was nice to visit & make a few excursions around the city. Wonderful weather. We enjoyed Beacon Hill Park while Spencer was at meetings. It was fun to watch the herons who build their nests high up in the trees. They would fly down to get food for their young 'uns & then fly back. We did treat spencer to dinner at the Empress. We toured Butchart Gardens & had 'tea' at the Tea House. The weather was superb so we were glad we made the trip. It would be nice if Spencer could find employment at UBC - we enjoy the area very much. And of course it is a favorite place for seniors, especially from the prairies.
The flowers on the deck are lovely & we asked John Schneider to give us a hand!
We are looking forward to the Rachel/Andrew nuptials & Diane & I will host a family shower for her when they come to Edmonton beginning of July. Grandpa has had cataract surgery & is recovering well. I call myself his ministering angel as I have to put drops in his eyes frequently during the day.
The weather in Alberta has been bizarre. Southern Alberta  has had flooding in several places - Calgary is one of them. People have been evacuated from their homes. We have had much rain in Edmonton.
Guess that is enough news for this time.
Nighty night to all.
Grannie
