Christmas 07

Happy New Year to all -
We had a wonderful Christmas holiday with the PG Youngs. We felt we were treated royally & enjoyed every moment with them. Christmas Eve was special - started off with a wonderful supper - clam chowder (much better than mine) ! lovely program by the girls, carolling at friends’ homes, seeing the light display in a section of PG & watching the DVD ‘The Nativity’. Christmas morning - opening our presents etc. The Christmas dinner was superb. We are grateful we could go up to PG rather than have them come down!!
Lots of snow & the planes were entirely booked.
Came home in time to have the Schneiders visit en masse en route to the wedding of OJ’s niece. Jordan, Charla, & little Oliver stayed with us. We were so happy to see little Oliver tour the house, sweep the floor, dismantle the tree & be so charming!
On December 31 we will be alone , rest up, & contemplate the New Year.
Love to all

invalid grannie

haste makes waste

hello to all my 'fans'
what is new at 174 oeming road?
grannie has done it again!! made herself into a dependant invalid.
rushing around as usual - grandpa drove me to get fitted for an orthotic for my left foot - it's supposed to help my back as i have to wait 6 months for my knee replacement & my back is getting the brunt of this ordeal.Anyway, i rush back from the car because my cane & my document folder have been left behind, I rush in at the first door (which happens to be the wrong door)& I trip over the door frame & find myself down on the floor head first. As a result I bleed profusely. A man at the reception desk runs to my aid with paper towels etc. Anyway I see that I need medical attention so we go see my doctor who, on examination sends me to the emergency at the U of A hospital.x-ray,ct scan follow - no major problem- ie - no broken bones. I get a cast for my right wrist & come home!I now have a swollen face (look like a badger)purple face, swollen nose (it may be broken)so now i am dependant on grandpa for many of my needs. I feel very blessed it was not worse. We are hosting the FHE Christmas social at our place Monday. The house is beautifully decorated - it is pot luck & grandpa says we will 'carry on'. He will have to make the clam chowder -under my supervision. Just thought you would like to know we are in control - except a bit of a trial. We do plan on flying to PG to be with the Youngs for a week.Hope all is well at your abodes
love
