Editing my blog

Hi -
Sorry I have the wrong address - I was thinking one thing & typing another & didn't edit. 174 Oeming Road is ofcourse the correct address, so don't be confused.

107 Oeming Road

Hello from the land of c-o-l-d!! I hear the wind a-blowing round the corners of the house. It's -23* with a wind chill of -40*. Not a nice night to be out. We did make it to Church & now it is too cozy at home to be out & about.
What an exciting month January has been. We've been able to walk outdoors when the weather has been nice. I have been able to spend a week at the Redds in Calgary - had a nice break & also got my teeth looked after!! Nice to meet with old friends & acquaintances, but best of all to see grandchildren in their own setting.Elena & Peter showed the dance steps of the jive & swing - fun to watch. Hugo has designed jerseys for his floor hockey tournament & Grannie was able to use 'heat 'n bond' to glue on the names of the various teams. Yesterday he came over & we worked on the numbers of each player. Hugo traced using a stencil while Grannie cut & ironed the numbers to the shirts. Hu invited Grandpa to see the movie 'The Man from Plains' at the Citadel - a great film of President Jimmy Carter who, while in office was highly criticized but now appears to be quite a hero!
We celebrated our 55th wedding anniversary by dining at Red Lobster - I think I have had plenty of sea food for awhile.
We are preparing to leave for our vacation to Victoria & Sydney. Jim & Grandpa will drive. Karyn, Elena & I will fly . They will spend the weekend with us. The girls will go to 'tea' at the Empress
Hotel - their menu never changes.
We just got news President Hinckley passed away - what a great man he was - we will always remember him for the wonderful example he was to us all.
Love to all
Grannie

Haapy New Year

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all
Seems I like blogging or that I have to relate some good things that have happened to us since we toasted the new year, danced around our living room & sang Auld Land Syne.We had a great meal on this, the first day of 2008. Had Kate, Jason & boys for dinner. Then a few days later had another visit with Jordan, Charla, Oliver jr. This time we took a pix which we are posting. Charla couldn't eat enough of our rhubarb sauce so i am enclosing my 'secret'recipe (made Grannie-style) Throw in rhubarb in a steel pot, add strawberries, crushed pineapple with juice, add sugar to taste and gently cook. When tender, mash, adjust sugar content & add at the end of cooking a package of strawberry jello ( this 'binds' the sauce together so it is not runny) How much of fruit? I usually put in a large zipper freezer bag of rhubarb, then a medium bag of strawberries & a can of crushed pineapple, a small package of strawberry jello. Serve on vanilla ice cream - you will get oohs & ahhs. I have served this innumerable occasions to people with varying taste buds & have never ever not had compliments. Simple to make, but a real gourmet dessert, especially when served with an oatmeal cookie.e-n-j-o-y!! If you don't have rhubarb in your place of residence, visit me, we'll raid Uncle Hu's garden!!
Again' Happy New Year
Love to all
