floral bouquet from Aaron/Patti

in Victoria with Aaron

Easter pix

Happy belated Easter to all -
We did not celebrate this wonderful holiday on our own - after Sacrament meeting ( which was so uplifting) we went to the ferry to meet Aaron & Patti. It was good to see them & have them for the afternoon. They brought us a beautiful bouquet of flowers, fruit salad for the dinner & Aaron remembered the candies that grandpa always carried in the car - & brought a can of these! Grandpa was pleased. We put Aaron behind the wheel & enjoyed a trip to Victoria where we visited the Lieutenant's-Governor's mansion - the grounds are beautifully landscaped. Then on to the Empress where we had a look-see, especially the 'tea' room. Viewed the Inner Harbor then returned home for a sumptuous dinner. Sure nice to have such good guests!

Easter at Sidney

Belated Easter Greetings to all -
We spent a very nice Easter here in Sidney. Attended Sacrament meeting - very nice - good spirit. The talks were exceptional. We then left to pick up Aaron/Patti at the ferry. How nice to see them! We had Aaron drive the car, Grandpa was the navigator - Patti & I in the back - i couldn't even be a back-seat driver - Aaron was so good at the wheel it was a joy to know his reflexes were superb. We went to Vuctoria & toured the Lieutenant-Governor's mansion. The grounds were lovely. Then we drove to the Empress We showed them around especially the tea room. We viewed the inner harbor & then it was time to drive home for our dinner. It was a sumptuous affair. Patti had made a fruit salad & with the help of Lunn's bakery & deli we had ham & also buns & lemon pie. We got fresh veggies (and plenty of them) so we really had a feast. A/P had to catch the 6:00 pm ferry, so we did not waste any time. We had a good visit.
Now I am preparing to fly home to Edmonton Friday. Hu will meet Grandpa at the Vancouver Airport & drive home (Monday) And reality will come!
Hope all is well with A-L-L!!

'Island Dwellers'

Hello -
I feel guilty not having posted for ages....but we are on holiday! It is hard to imagine that we are nearing the end of our stay on the Island. We spent one month in Victoria and are now settled in Sidney for the rest of our stay here. So far, so good. We had visitors - first Karyn & Elena & Jim. The girls enjoyed 'tea' at the Empress & of course we had our treat of fish 'n chips. Coleen & OJ came on the Clipper from Seattle & stayed Friday-Saturday. We went to Chemainus dinner theatre - walked, shopped, visited, got caught up with the latest family affairs. This past Saturday we went as foot passengers on the ferry to Vancouver. Aaron met us & we all went to Janice's for a sumptuous breakfast & had a good 'heart to heart' visit. We invited Aaron & Patti for Easter dinner & hope we can enjoy this time together & get to know Patti better.
Our computers keep us busy. We walk a lot even though the weather has not been that exciting - mostly overcast with a limited amount of sunshine. But it is nice to get out into the fresh air. Grandpa has done quite a bit of reading. I have worked on some quilting projects - brought my little portable Singer sewing machine. First article of furniture Grandpa bought me after we were married. It still can sew a mean seam (I did take it in for maintenance)
It is amazing that we meet people at Church with whom we have had some past 'connections'.Small, small world.
Grandpa has watched the curling Tim Horton'a Briar. Alberta has been undefeated thus far.
We have met some interesting 'Snow Birds'
We love to receive e-mail & thank you all that have e-mailed or blogged/ We feel quite close to you even though we are far away.
Love to all
