Hawaiian Holiday

A L O H A
We spent a lovely week in Maui . Janine accompanied us. What a difference 21 years make! We could hardly recognize the places we remembered. We stayed in a time share exchange from Honolulu. We were certainly upgraded & vacationed in a premier resort. We hung about the pool, took a walk along the beach (although it was not conducive to walking for octogenarians) We rented a car & were able to drive up to the crater of a 'defunct' volcano Haleakala. We took a guided all-day trip to Hana with many stops along the way. The guide gave us commentaries about different areas. Several show business people have bought properties. We heard some excellent talks in Sacrament & the Sunday school teacher was a born teacher - the spirit was s-t-r-o-n-g. We went to a luau - Janine's first experience. Personally, I am not that fond of luaus - the food is not that great. But she enjoyed it.
Today we attended the Primary Sacrament Presentation. Hugo did very well. Microphones can be intimidating even to adults. But he was a trouper.
Today was also janine's farewll from the Tuscanny Ward. We did not attend as I am suffering from a terrible backache & travelling would only make it worse.
We are happy to be home, but we did enjoy our excursion. Now it is Christmas preparation time.
Love to all
Grannie
