Hello & a Happy New Year to all -
Can't believe that 1/24 of 2009 has gone. In spite of the different kinds of weather we had to endure - we have had some neat experiences. Of late we have had some warm, sunny days when we ventured out for a good walk out-of-doors. The community clears the walking trails in this area so with my 'yak-trax' & my 'pick' on the tip of my cane I have been pretty confident. Grandpa certainly enjoys his cane that he got for a Christmas present this year. Thank you.
We have kept a low profile mainly because i have not been feeling so great - I seem to come down with this or that - but I did manage to complete a quilt top (almost) as well as complete some baby quilts for the Humanitarian Club to which I belong.
We celebrated our 56 anniversary of 'married bliss' by going to the Red Lobster for some sea food. Something unusual happened.
As we were seated at our booth I told the waitress that this was a special outing for us. We were celebrating our 56 wedding anniversary. When she brought our 'drinks' she said the couple in the next booth had paid for them. I glanced at them & didn't believe that they would be the sort that would do such a thing. However when they were leaving the lady came over to personally wish us a happy anniversary. I felt quite ashamed & instantly thought of the scripture from Samuel :"man looketh of the outside appearance but the Lord looketh on the heart" I was ashamed, to say the least.
Yesterday the Fixsens took us to lunch at the Upper Crust Restaurant. This was their Christmas present to us. It is near the University area & was the food good! It was a treat to eat with Jeff, Jaima, Ivy & Blake. The children were so well behaved. As dessert was served Blake snuggled over to Bapa & helped him eat the apple crisp - that was so cute! He told me he could spell his name: B-L-A-K-E . Ivy is just a doll. This was a memorable occasion for us.
Love to all
