H e l l o -
This has been a very interesting week - we were happy to have Hu/Hugo visit us on Thursday. They arrived about 9:30 am and we quickly whisked them to Chemainus to the luncheon theatre as the couple that were going with us bowed out at the last minute. Chemainus is a very interesting village - quite an artsy place with the beautiful theatre, shops - antique & otherwise. Many buildings have paintings of different historical scenes on their walls. We ate well, were entertained by some good actors and driving through the rain!! We were happy to have Hu at the wheel.
Prior to Diane’s arrival we toured Fort Street with its antique shops, bakeries, etc. fun browzing adventure for us.
Saturday we were treated to a sumptuous dinner at Cafe Brio. Guess Hu knows how to sniff out the out - of- the - ordinary places - and of course it was quite an adventure for us too
Grandpa & I went to the Old Vic Movie theatre to see AMAZING GRACE - a most interesting movie. I enjoyed it so much I took Hu to see it with me & he enjoyed it too.
Second time around was even better.
We are preparing for our trip to Seattle via the Victorua Clipper and will spend Conference weekend with the Schneiders. We can hardly believe that we have been here for almost 2 months - it is count-down for us.
We have enjoyed the experience in spite of the rain - you can always go out for a walk - which we did.
Love to all

count-down in Victoria
Hello to all from the sunshine coast -
We’ve had a few hours of sunshine so it was quite a treat - we could go walking wherever and how long we desired. Mind you, there is a time limit for me - the knee shoots pains when overloaded so I respect these signals. Generally a rest follows & I’m fine. We’ve spent considerable time socializing. We were invited to Gillilandds for a birthday celebration. Sis Gilliland turned 65 so her husband arranged a party for this special occasion when she would be eligible for her Canada pension! It was nice to mingle with the guests socially not only in a Church setting. Chinese food was ordered in and we gorged ourselves. The next day we went to Camosun College for their gourmet luncheon with snowbirds from Winnipeg. Very tastefully done. We go there every year. Great food, service & nominal price. Tomorrow we go to Chemainus for a Luncheon Theatre - and this is another gormet delight. All in one week. We just may burst with so much good food in our tummies. We’ll have to walk mules to burn off the calories.
Hope all is well with you all

Rainy Victoria!!
Wow - we haven’t seen much sun, but we still are able to get in our walks. I should say the sun tries to break through the clouds - but only occasionally suceeds.
We attended the QV social for the long-stay guests - just a polite way to encourage us to return next year! There is a plethora of visitors from Ontario - guess this is the next best to Florida.
We are awaiting the arrival of Uncle Hu & family so hope we will be able to visit some sites that may be interesting to them. I hope they will accompany us to the play ‘Tom Sawyer’ which is being staged by Spectrum High School Drama class. I have directed that musical in school as well as at Church - so I feel it is a must see.
We plan sail on theVictoria Clipper to Seattle the week-end of General Conference We will attend luncheon at Camosun College next week - it is a chef-training school and the service & food is first rate. And the cost is not exhorbitant - an added bonus.
Grandpa loved watching the Briar Curling competition on TV.- even got me hooked.
Adios a todos.

Dear Ones All -
A wonderful sabbath day. All the meetings at Church were truly inspirational. We appreciate all the work the leaders & teachers put in their preparation. We continue to walk everyday even though the weather sometimes is not conducive - but oh! the fresh air....just wonderful. I enjoy going to the Family History Centre. I have made contacts with TWO families here by checking out the phone directory. One is on Gido’s line, the other on Baba’s. -had a good visit with one family. They came to the QE and were very impressed with my Kowalchuk reunion book. And I got some info too! Went to the Archives and got some info there. Grandpa goes to the driving range while I go to the FHC - they are not far from each other. Life is good & we are OK. Grandpa is snoozing but I am busy!
